The coach helps the employee clarify their preventative care needs, explore their readiness to change, and set self-directed goals that align with their values. A preventative care specialist, like a health coach, personal trainer, nutritionist, and mental performance coaches are taught to refer to a specialist when they see issues that require a proper continuation of care.
Throughout their engagement in the program, the coach checks in regularly, offering accountability, encouragement, and a safe, nonjudgmental space for reflection and growth. Coaches also help employees understand and make the most of their available health and wellness benefits, empowering them to choose the services that best support their goals.
